Construction of flanged bellows and names of parts used for them are shown.
Name | Description |
---|---|
Flange | Disk/cylinder-shape part used for connection of pipes, etc., as a type of piping joint. |
Welding groove | Grooves are provided in flanges for butt-welding of bellows and flanges; Such grooves that prevent interference between corrugations and fittings when bellows are compressed are also provided. |
Intermediate ring | Flange used to prevent meandering and buckling and to obtain smooth motion for long bellows. |
Internal guide | Guide (shaft) passing through the bellows for transfer of customer samples, etc., and also used to prevent buckling for long bellows. |
External guide | Externally passing guide (shaft) used to prevent buckling for long bellows. |
Multiblock structure | Structure used to avoid meandering and buckling in one block for long bellows; split into two blocks or more in order to shorten the length of one block. |
Number of blocks | Number of bellows in the case of a multiblock structure. |
Configuration for preventing excessive expansion/contraction |
Configuration to equalize the operating ranges of respective blocks of a multiblock structure; mainly consisting of contraction prevention stoppers and expansion prevention rods. |
Contraction prevention stopper |
Stopper to equalize, on the compression side, the operating ranges of respective blocks of a multiblock structure; softening the effects of the bellows’ own weight in a vertical posture. |
Expansion prevention rod |
Rod to equalize, on the tension side, the operating ranges of respective blocks of a multiblock structure; softening the effects of the bellows’ own weight in a vertical posture |
