Outstanding Performance Prize of the Excellent New Technologies and Products Award for small and medium-sized enterprise

On April 10, 2006, the ‘differential pressure cancelling-type large-sized gate valve “GARIVA”’ developed by IRIE KOKEN CO., LTD., received the 18th “Outstanding Performance Prize” of the Excellent New Technologies and Products Award for small and medium-sized enterprise.

The prize was established in 1988 with the aim of contributing to the development of Japanese industry through a co-sponsorship with the Resona Foundation for Small and Medium Enterprise Promotion and the Nikkan Kogyo Shimbun, promoting the technology of small and medium enterprises. The prize is known as the largest of its kind in Japan as well as for its selection of only new products and new technologies through a rigorous screening process. It was reported that as many as 357 applications were made this time.

The prize-winning large-sized gate valve “GARIVA” is structurally epoch-making, by which pressure differences between the atmosphere and vacuum are hardly applied to the valve plate due to the placement of the differential pressure introduction port and metal bellows at the valve plate section. It has been adopted by many customers as a gate valve for equipment to manufacture FPDs that have been continually upsized in recent years.
