Against Conflict Minerals

IRIE KOKEN CO., LTD.'s  Conflict Minerals Policy

IRIE KOKEN CO., LTD. (hereinafter referred to as "our company") promotes the non-use of four specific metals—tantalum, tin, gold, and tungsten—commonly referred to as "conflict minerals", which are mined in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and surrounding countries. These minerals have been identified as potential sources of funding for armed groups responsible for acts of violence, human rights abuses, and atrocities. From a humanitarian perspective, we are committed to avoiding the use of such minerals in our products.

In the event that any materials or components containing conflict minerals are identified, we will promptly suspend procurement of those items.

The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) has established the Due Diligence Guidance for Responsible Supply Chains of Minerals from Conflict-Affected and High-Risk Areas (hereinafter referred to as the "OECD Guidance"). This guidance emphasizes the importance of identifying and assessing:
Targeted risks (OECD Annex II Risks), including serious human rights abuses and illicit financing
Targeted regions (CAHRAs: Conflict-Affected and High-Risk Areas)

Companies are expected to conduct appropriate due diligence to identify and evaluate these risks and regions, and to ensure responsible mineral sourcing throughout their supply chains.

We kindly ask our business partners to fully understand the international concerns surrounding conflict minerals, to support our policy of prohibiting their use, and to actively engage in responsible sourcing practices.
