Awarded Chairman’s Prize from Japan Vacuum Industry Association

On May 13, 2004, we received the 4th (FY2003) Chairman’s Prize from the Japan Vacuum Industry Association (JVIA) based on the theme “Development and Commercialization of Differential Pressure Cancellation Valve.
This prize is given to the developer of technology or product(s) who has made a significant contribution to industrial promotion or development of the vacuum industry in the technology award category.

『Awarded Chairman's Prize』

■Prize-winners
Manager of the Engineering Group:Masaharu Nakagawa /  Chief:Manabu Yabe / Tatsuo Saito

■Awarded themes
「Development and Commercialization of Differential Pressure Cancellation Valve.」

【Reasons for this award】
This time, we were awarded the prize for the following reasons; “While board sizes are increasing as open-ended corresponding to an upsizing in liquid crystal displays, equipment manufacturers are under increasing pressure to handle such conditions. This prize was awarded for an inter-chamber gate valve among such products. Conventionally, gate valves had been required to withstand differential pressures while maintaining a low cost structure and offering a high level of reliability. This prize-winning differential pressure cancelling-type valve has realized these requirements and resulted in the highest delivery performance in the industry. The novelty and performance were recognized and awarded the Japan Vacuum Industry Association Chairman’s Prize.” (Excerpts from the JVIA chief judge’s comment)
