IRIE KOKEN CO., LTD.'s SDGs Declaration

Based on the premise of our corporate philosophy, “We aim to be a company that lasts for 100 years by providing customers with perfect products and the best possible service, ensuring that our products are used for a long time, and continuing to win the hearts of our customers,” this report summarizes the key themes that IKC should address in light of the SDGs.

We will promote efforts to reduce environmental impact and protect human rights.
We will realize the above policies by reducing waste and emissions, promoting recycling, actively adopting environmentally friendly materials and parts, and establishing SCM that takes human rights issues into consideration.

We will continue to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

The Japanese government has set a goal of reducing greenhouse gas emissions, mainly carbon dioxide (CO2), which contribute to global warming, to a level 26.0% below the fiscal 2013 level (approximately 1,042 million tons of CO2) by fiscal 2030. We are also focusing on reducing CO2 emissions during production activities.

・Reduction of electricity consumption by turning off lights in the office during lunch time
・Reviewing air conditioning temperature settings in offices
・Switching to LED lighting
・Improvement of air conditioning efficiency through thermal barrier coating
・Putting office procedures online
・Reduction of energy consumption by telecommuting (telework)
・By implementing these items, we are working to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. The entire company calculates scope1 scope2 every month and continues activities to keep emissions below the previous year's level.

We are committed to green procurement.

In recent years, companies have been required to strictly comply with regulations such as the RoHS Directive and REACH Regulation in Europe, the Water Pollution Control Law, the Air Pollution Control Law, and the Chemical Substances Control Law. In the future, as these regulations, companies will be required to respond to these regulations as they become more stringent. We have prepared List of Chemical Substances for Green Procurement every year and are continuously improving it with the cooperation of not only ourselves but also our subcontractors in the supply chain.

We use recycled resources for consumables, packaging materials, etc. and reduce industrial waste.

We use LIMEX for our business cards. LIMEX sheets are made mainly from limestone, which is water-resistant and tear-resistant. Limestone, the main raw material, is 100% self-sufficient in Japan. This new material originated in Japan is expected to replace paper and plastic, and we have been using it for about 10 years from the viewpoint of environmental protection. We will continue to actively adopt environmentally friendly products such as LED lighting and recycled paper.

Declaration of Partnership Building

IRIE KOKEN CO., LTD.(Head Office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President: Norihiro Irie) has endorsed the aims of the “Conference on Promoting Partnership Building for the Future” promoted by the Cabinet Office, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, and the Small and Medium Enterprise Agency, and announced the “Partnership Building Declaration”.

The “Declaration of Partnership Building” is a declaration by the name of the representative of the company to build new partnerships by promoting cooperation, co-existence and co-prosperity with business partners in the supply chain and other value-creating businesses.
