Recipient of the Japan Vacuum Industry Association “Technical Award”

At “VACUUM2007” that was held for three days from September 12, 2007 at the Tokyo Big Sight, we received the 7th Vacuum Industry Association “Technical Award” from the Japan Vacuum Industry Association.
This award is given to the developer of technology or product(s) who has made a special contribution to industrial promotion or development of the vacuum industry in the technology award category.

Award recipient: Katsushi Nishioka
Leader of the manufacturing group, Nakayama Factory
IRIE KOKEN CO., LTD. Shikoku Plant
Award-winning theme: “Improvement on the method of producing welded bellows”

He received the award for the following achievements:

He improved the procedures for welding ultrathin stainless-steel disks and welding special materials (titanium material and nickel alloy), while being involved in the welding work and process control operations for welded bellows;
and simplified process control by learning a new production system and improving the inter-process flow, and manualized new production techniques. These achievements are considered outstanding.
